The A3X is the smallest monitor in the AX Series. It is a vertical two-way active design with a 4.5" carbon fiber woofer and an X-ART tweeter, each driven by its own built-in A/B amplifier (25 W RMS / 40 W music per driver). The stated frequency response is 60 Hz to 50 kHz, with a maximum SPL of at least 106 dB per pair at 1 m.
The front panel carries the volume control and the on/off switch. A tweeter gain control of ±4 dB lets the user adapt the sound to the room. A Stereolink function uses a second pair of input and output jacks, so the volume of both monitors can be set from one speaker. Each monitor can act as master or slave, and a Cinch cable for the link is supplied.
Signals connect through analog XLR and RCA inputs. The cabinet is small, with a geometry meant to reduce reflections and vertical sound radiation meant to reduce early reflections from desks and consoles. Optional wall mount and desktop stand are available. Warranty is 2 years, extendable to 5 years with product registration.
