DHT-S316

The DHT-S316 is a 2.1-style sound bar paired with a wireless subwoofer. It decodes Dolby Digital and DTS and offers a virtual surround mode for surround-encoded material from Blu-ray, DVD and similar sources. Sound modes cover dialog, music and movie, and there is a night listening mode for quiet viewing.

A Dialog Enhancer feature offers three levels of speech enhancement, so voices can be raised without changing overall volume. A pure mode removes any surround processing and adjusts nothing in the signal. Setup is a single-cable affair: the HDMI input and output support ARC, which also lets the TV remote control the sound bar, and CEC is supported. HDMI passes through 4K with HDCP 2.2, Dolby Vision and HDR10.

Other connections are an optical digital input, a 3.5 mm analog input and Bluetooth (A2DP) for playing music from a phone or tablet. The sound bar has keyhole slots for wall mounting, control buttons on the unit and a remote. It has no built-in streaming platform, so network streaming is not available beyond Bluetooth. The model has been marked as discontinued by the maker.
