The 2020 is a small digital chromatic tuner built into a pedal-format enclosure to save space on a crowded pedalboard. It reads pitch from B0 to B7 with an accuracy of ±1 cent and shows the result on a high-visibility display.
A single footswitch turns the tuner on and off. When it is engaged, the output is muted, which keeps tuning silent during live use. When it is off, the true-bypass circuit passes the instrument signal through without change. A Pitch button changes the reference frequency from 436 to 445 Hz in 1 Hz steps, and a Flat button gives access to three flat tuning modes.
The signal path is mono, with one input jack for the instrument and one output jack that goes to an amp or another effect. It runs on a 9V DC power adapter that is supplied with it, drawing 10 mA. Production ended in 2024.
