Bass Big Muff Pi 2

The Bass Big Muff Pi 2 adapts the dual op-amp Big Muff Pi 2 fuzz circuit for bass guitar. It keeps the midrange-heavy fuzz character and long sustain of the Big Muff family, with Volume, Tone and Sustain controls for shaping the sound.

Two controls are added for low-end handling. The Blend knob mixes the dry and fuzzed signals, from fully dry at counterclockwise to fully wet at clockwise, with an even mix at noon. The Bass Boost toggle adds extra low end to the fuzz and works best with the Tone control set higher.

The soft footswitch uses a mechanical relay for true bypass and offers latching or momentary action: a normal press latches, while holding it for more than half a second gives a momentary burst of fuzz. The momentary action can be disabled. The pedal is mono, runs on a supplied 9V battery or an optional center-negative 9V DC adapter, and has the input jack on the right side and the output jack on the left.
