The C SUB CS 118 is a passive, direct-radiating subwoofer built around a single 18-inch Beyma neodymium driver with a 4-inch voice coil, loaded in a bass-reflex birch plywood cabinet. It is rated at 1600 W RMS, 3200 W program and 6400 W peak, and reaches 129 dB peak SPL, with a response of 35.5 Hz to 100 Hz at -6 dB.
The cabinet has a PU coating and a steel front grille with an anticorrosive finish, backed by acoustic foam. Four HK Audio MultiGrip handles are fitted, and an M20 pole-mount socket lets it carry a top cabinet on a distance rod. Optional accessories include wheel boards, wheels, a tilt unit and rigging or pullback frames.
Connection is through four fully through-connected NL4 Speakon sockets, two at the front and two at the back, which simplifies cardioid and endfire setups. A switch assigns the pin configuration to one of two speaker paths. Ready-made DSP presets and filter settings are available for Lab.gruppen IPX and IPD series amplifiers, Lake controllers and Powersoft X-series amplifiers (Armonia Plus).
