A 1W all-valve guitar amp head from Marshall's DSL range with two gain channels and a switch to drop output to 0.1W. It is aimed at players who want a DSL voice at home-friendly volume and in a compact, portable size.

The DSL1 Head is a compact valve amplifier head with two channels: Classic Gain and Ultra Gain. Output power is 1W, and a switch reduces it to 0.1W for quieter playing. The channel can be changed with a footswitch connected to the aux input. The tone section has Treble, Middle and Bass controls plus a Tone Shift switch, and onboard digital reverb is included.
The circuit uses two ECC83 preamp valves and one ECC82 power amp valve. A series effects loop allows pedals or processors to be placed after the preamp. Designed and engineered in the UK and made in Vietnam, the head weighs 5.6 kg and is small enough to carry to rehearsals.
The speaker output is a 1/4" jack that works with a 16Ω load only. A 3.5mm emulated line out is provided for recording or headphone use. Inputs are a 1/4" instrument jack and a 3.5mm aux in that also serves as the footswitch connection. A detachable power cable is supplied.
