Emberton II is a small portable speaker built around two 2" full-range drivers, each driven by a 10 W Class D amplifier, plus two passive radiators in a sealed cabinet. A processing mode called True Stereophonic spreads stereo content in all directions, so the sound is not tied to one listening position. The housing is a textured silicone sleeve with a metal grille and the Marshall script logo.
The speaker is rated IP67, meaning it is sealed against dust and has been tested in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. The built-in Li-ion battery gives 30+ hours of playtime, and a 20-minute charge is enough for about 4 hours. A full charge takes 3 hours over USB-C. It weighs 0.7 kg and measures 160 x 68 x 76 mm.
Playback is controlled from a multi-directional knob on the top panel, which handles power, play and pause, track skipping and volume. A separate button starts Bluetooth pairing. Connection is wireless only, over Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of about 10 m. The optional Marshall Bluetooth app adds equaliser presets and over-the-air updates.
