JDV-Pre

The JDV-Pre is a 500 series module built around a fully discrete class-A signal path. Its feed-forward input stage uses no negative feedback, and the gain control is an AccuState design intended to keep noise low across the range. A variable low-frequency cut helps tame boominess on acoustic instruments.
The input impedance is switchable, including an ultra-high 4 megohm setting meant to bring out the full tone of piezo pickups on violin, cello or string bass. A standard setup has a bass with magnetic pickups plugged into the front panel jack, with the signal passed through to a stage amp while the balanced output feeds a recording or PA system.
A condenser instrument microphone can be connected to the rear XLR input, so the module can also serve as a microphone preamp. The balanced output connects to a recording or PA system. A user guide and a smart sheet are available for owners.
