The RP-4000M is a fully manual, three-speed turntable (33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm) built around a quartz-controlled, high-torque direct drive. Starting torque is above 1600 g/cm. Pitch can be set to a range of ±10% or ±20%, with quartz lock, and a reverse function is included. The heavy steel chassis is intended to reduce vibration.
The tonearm is a statically balanced S-shaped design with a detachable headshell and an effective length of 230.5 mm. Tracking force can be set from 3 to 4 g, anti-skating from 0 to 7 g, and the arm accepts cartridges weighing 3.5 to 8.5 g. A pre-fitted Reloop OM Black cartridge made by Ortofon is supplied, together with a Reloop headshell and a neoprene slipmat.
The deck measures 450 x 144 x 352 mm and weighs 9.68 kg. A PDF instruction manual is available for download. The model is a black metallic redesign of the RP-4000 line.
