The F107 is a compact digital piano built around the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, which combines sampling and modeling to reproduce how an acoustic grand responds to touch and dynamics. It offers 256 voices of polyphony and 15 tones. The 88-key PHA-4 Standard keyboard has escapement and Ivory Feel white keys, and damper, soft and sostenuto pedals are built into the cabinet.
The cabinet has a folding keyboard cover that doubles as a rest for sheet music or a mobile device once opened. Sound comes from two 12 cm speakers rated at 8 W each. Two headphone jacks and Twin Piano mode allow two people to play together, and Ambience and Brilliance effects are available. A metronome, transpose, dual mode and a recorder for Standard MIDI Files are included, along with 377 internal songs, including 287 lesson pieces.
Bluetooth 4.2 carries both audio (A2DP) and MIDI (over Bluetooth Low Energy), so the piano can play streamed music through its speakers or work with MIDI apps. A USB computer port and a USB memory port handle computer connection and flash storage. The Roland Piano App provides remote control of sounds, metronome and recording, plus lessons and scores.
