V-STUDIO 700 combines three parts: the VS-700C motorised-style control console, the VS-700R rack I/O unit, and Cakewalk SONAR 8 Producer. The console gives hardware control over editing, mixing and automation inside SONAR, and also offers a surround joystick, T-bar and a video control mode with V-LINK support.
The VS-700R is a 24-bit audio interface working up to 192 kHz, with eight XLR/TRS inputs with preamps, balanced main, sub and ten line outputs, two headphone outputs, AES/EBU, coaxial, ADAT optical and word clock connections. It also contains a Fantom VS sound generator with 16 parts, 128-voice polyphony and one ARX expansion slot.
The console and I/O unit link to each other with a single special cable, and the system connects to the computer by USB 2.0. Software bundled includes SONAR 8 Producer, Dimension Pro and Rapture, with editors for the Fantom VS and ARX boards available as downloads for Windows.
