MD 421 Kompakt

The MD 421 Kompakt is a wired dynamic microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. It carries over the sound character of the original MD 421 and MD 421-II in a smaller, lighter body, and is intended for both live sound and recording work. An internal bass tube extends the low-end response, and the stated frequency range is 30 Hz to 17 kHz.

The frame is rugged, with a stainless-steel basket and gold-plated XLR connectors. A protective inner chassis enclosure limits exposure to dust and humidity. The mounting clip has been redesigned and is attached to the microphone itself, so it fits standard microphone stands without loose parts. An optional MZH Drum Clamp screws into the clip for more secure drum miking, such as on toms.

The microphone connects through a 3-pin XLR output and has a nominal impedance of 250 ohms. It ships with a pouch, a quick guide and a safety guide.
