Aprašymas
The 514ce is a solid-wood Grand Auditorium guitar built in San Diego. Its back and sides are red ironbark, a tonewood from Taylor's urban wood initiative. The top is torrefied Sitka spruce, treated to give a played-in, mature voice. The combination is described as pairing rosewood-like clarity with the warmth and midrange punch of mahogany. V-Class bracing is used for added volume and sustain.
The neck is tropical mahogany with a West African Crelicam ebony fretboard and bridge, a 25-1/2" scale and a Tusq nut with a Micarta saddle. Cosmetic details include Aerial inlays in Italian acrylic, a single-ring abalone rosette, tortoise binding and pickguard, a lightly shaded edgeburst, and a gloss body with a satin neck.
The guitar has a Venetian cutaway and Expression System 2 electronics, which use a behind-the-saddle pickup design. It is strung with D'Addario XS coated phosphor bronze light strings (.012-.053) and ships in a deluxe hardshell case. It is a steel-string instrument and is not suited to nylon strings.
