The BD-2 Blues Driver is a compact overdrive stompbox for guitar. Its analog circuit uses several clipping stages designed to imitate the gain and compression behaviour of a tube amplifier, so the drive and harmonic content change with picking attack and cleans up as the guitar volume is turned down.

Three knobs control the sound: Gain sets the amount of drive, Tone shapes the high-end response, and Level sets the output volume. The gain range runs from a light breakup and transparent boost to thicker, more saturated overdrive, and the pedal can be used to push other drive pedals or high-gain amps. The maker has produced it continuously since 1995 and covers it with a five-year warranty.

It has 1/4-inch input and output jacks and a DC IN jack. Power comes from a 9 V battery, which is included, or from an optional PSA-series AC adaptor sold separately. A check indicator reports battery condition.
