The Deluxe Memory Man 550-TT is an analog delay and modulation pedal built around NOS Panasonic bucket brigade chips. It is a shorter-delay companion to the 1100-TT version, with the same feature set, and its name refers to the 550 ms maximum delay time of the original Deluxe Memory Man. The delay knob covers 30 ms to 630 ms.
Tap tempo is handled by a footswitch, with a jack for an external momentary switch. A Tap Divide button steps through the subdivisions: dotted eighth, quarter note triple, eighth note, eighth note triple and sixteenth note. Blend, Gain, Rate, Depth, Feedback and Delay knobs shape the sound. An optional expression pedal or control voltage can be assigned to Blend, Rate, Depth, Feedback or Delay through the Exp. Mode button.
A send and return effects loop lets other pedals process only the wet delay signal while the dry signal stays untouched. The pedal uses true bypass, is mono, and runs from the included 9.6VDC 200 mA power adapter. Connections are quarter-inch jacks for input, output, send, return, expression pedal and external tap switch.
