Cam Link 4K takes a clean HDMI output from a DSLR, mirrorless camera, camcorder or GoPro and presents it to the computer as a standard USB webcam. It works in conferencing, streaming and recording apps without extra drivers, and also appears in apps such as OBS Studio, Zoom, Teams, Discord and FaceTime.
The latest hardware revision (model number 20GAM9903) can capture 4K at 60 fps in MJPG; earlier units are limited to 4K at 30 fps. Other supported modes run from 1080p60 down to 480p60. The unit is about the size of a flash drive and weighs 20 g. It is not an HDMI-powered charger for the camera, so long sessions may call for an external dummy battery.
The device connects to a USB 3.0 port, Type A or Type C, and is not recommended for use through a USB hub. A 30 cm USB 3.0 A-to-C extension cable is included. The HDMI cable for the camera is not included. An iPad with a USB-C port can be used as a preview monitor. A two-year limited warranty applies when bought in original packaging.
