The F704SP is the Special Production version of the F704 in Fyne Audio's F700SP range. It uses a 300mm IsoFlare point source driver, in which a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone is combined with a 75mm titanium dome compression tweeter, so both sound from one acoustic origin. A second 300mm multi-fibre bass driver handles low frequencies, and a downward-firing port with a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser spreads bass through 360 degrees around the cabinet.
The passive crossover is upgraded with ClarityCap capacitors and Vishay resistors, and it is cryogenically treated. The cabinet is pressed high density birch ply with extensive internal bracing, standing on an aluminium sandwich plinth derived from the F1-12S. Sensitivity is 96dB and nominal impedance is 8 ohm, with a recommended amplifier power range of 30 to 300 watts RMS.
Connection is by bi-wired terminals. The speakers are hand finished in the UK in Natural Walnut, Piano Gloss Walnut, Piano Gloss Black or Piano Gloss White.
