RP-400M

The RP-400M is a two-way bookshelf speaker from the Reference Premiere range. A 1-inch vented titanium tweeter with Linear Travel Suspension sits behind a 90° x 90° hybrid Tractrix horn, which directs high-frequency output toward the listener and limits reflections off nearby walls. The horn has a molded silicone face, and phase plugs inside it help keep the frequency response smooth while protecting the diaphragm.

Low frequencies come from a 4-inch spun copper Cerametallic woofer. The cone is bonded to a dual-layer copper-wound voice coil and mounted in a stamped-steel basket with a large magnet motor. A rear-firing Tractrix port provides bass-reflex loading, designed to keep airflow smooth and turbulence low.

The cabinet has a satin painted ebony baffle with a scratch-resistant finish and a removable, flexible magnetic grille. The speaker measures 11.73 x 5.67 x 7.50 inches, so it fits on a shelf or stand in a compact room. It can serve as a main speaker or as a surround within a Reference Premiere system.
