KMS 105 D
The KMS 105 D is a digital handheld stage vocal microphone with a supercardioid condenser capsule and an integrated A/D converter with DSP functions, built on the AES 42 standard. It suits live and on-stage vocal use with digital Neumann (Solution-D) systems.
- Digital stage vocal microphone based on AES 42
- Supercardioid pattern for feedback rejection
- Integrated A/D converter with DSP and peak limiter
- Sampling rates 44.1 to 192 kHz, 24-bit AES 3 output
- Settings stored via DMI-2 or DMI-8 and RCS software
- Nickel or black finish; stand clamp and nylon bag included

The KMS 105 D is the digital version of the KMS 105 stage microphone. It has a supercardioid pressure-gradient condenser capsule and offers the same features as the analog model, with an integrated analog-to-digital converter and DSP built into the body. The digital design is based on the AES 42 standard and is aimed at live and on-stage applications.
Compared with the analog version, the digital design gives an extended dynamic range, EMC-safe operation and clipping protection through an integrated peak limiter/compressor. Internal conversion uses a 28-bit word length, with output as 24-bit AES/EBU (AES 3) data at sampling rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Latency ranges from 41 to 99 samples depending on the sampling rate.
The microphone connects through an XLR 3 F connector and is used with a Neumann DMI-2 or DMI-8 digital microphone interface. Together with the Remote Control Software (RCS), pre-programmed settings can be stored in the microphone. It is supplied in nickel or black, with a stand clamp and padded nylon bag. Solution-D products are no longer part of the Neumann range, and service is guaranteed until 31 December 2030.
