Tape 2 is a pocket-sized stereo recorder built for capturing DJ sets. It writes 24-bit/48 kHz WAV or 320 kbps MP3 files to a microSD card (up to 128 GB, FAT32), with recording started by a single button. An input gain control and bi-colour LEDs show power/recording, card-full, signal/peak and battery status. A lock function disables all controls so that a recording cannot be stopped by accident.
A built-in lithium-ion battery gives up to 6 hours of recording per charge and can be topped up from any standard 5 V USB power supply. Housing carries a Kensington lock slot, and three sticker sets are included for customising its look.
Sources connect to a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack input that accepts line level or dynamic microphones. A 3.5 mm Thru output allows headphone monitoring or looping the signal to the main speakers, which suits sources without a dedicated record out. Over USB the unit works as a microSD card reader, and a Sync Tool for Windows and macOS adds timestamps to recordings. The model is listed as discontinued.
