GR-S
The GR-S V-Guitar Space is a twin-pedal stompbox that brings Roland's GK string-by-string processing to a pedalboard. It suits guitarists with a GK-equipped guitar or GK-3 pickup who want four spacious, polyphonic tones.

The GR-S processes each guitar string independently using a 13-pin GK input, so it can create sounds that a normal mono pickup cannot. It offers four tone types: Crystal for shimmering, bell-like textures, Rich Modulation for a wide multi-channel chorus, Slow Pad for a synth-pad swell with variable attack, and Brilliant Clean, which adds virtual strings adjustable from 12 to 18 with the COLOR knob.
COLOR and TONE knobs each adjust several parameters behind the scenes for the chosen tone, and a LEVEL knob sets the volume. Four memories store favourite sounds and can be recalled from the control switches on a GK-equipped guitar. One of the two footswitches triggers Freeze, which holds the current sound for backing a lead part or for effects. Processing is real-time DSP.
For connections, a dual MIX/GUITAR INPUT lets other devices be blended with the GR-S sound before the mono/stereo output. The GK connector also passes the normal pickup signal through, and a dedicated GUITAR OUTPUT sends the unprocessed guitar sound to an amp or effects, or works with the MIX/GUITAR INPUT as a send/return loop. Power comes from six AA batteries or an optional PSA-series adaptor.
