The V-Synth GT is a 61-key synthesizer built around two independent sound-generator cores. Each core can draw on analog-modeled oscillators, PCM and VariPhrase waveforms, or an external audio input, and two tones can be layered, split or morphed into one patch. Elastic Audio Synthesis changes pitch, formant and length of sampled sounds in real time, AP-Synthesis applies the articulation of strings, brass and woodwinds, and Vocal Designer provides a vocoder with voice modeling.
Each tone has its own effects section with 63 Tone-FX types, plus 8 chorus and 18 reverb types and a 4-band system EQ. A Multi Step Modulator and an arpeggiator add motion. Editing is done on a 320 x 240 colour touch screen with eight control knobs, Sound Shaper II, a Pro Edit mode and built-in help. Performance controls include a pitch bend/modulation lever, Time Trip Pad and D Beam controller. Version 2.0 adds new sounds, more effects, sample and patch import and a Chromatic Bend function.
On the rear panel are two sets of analog outputs, a stereo line input, an XLR/phone mic input with phantom power, coaxial and optical digital I/O, MIDI, pedal jacks and two USB ports. The COMPUTER port transfers files and works as a USB audio and MIDI interface, while the MEMORY port takes a USB flash drive.
