The KSM32C is a compact, all-metal cardioid condenser microphone. Its Shure-made ¾" capsule uses an embossed Mylar diaphragm and is designed to deliver the smooth response and low-frequency performance usually associated with 1" capsules. The capsule is gold-layered and sits behind a precision-machined steel grille, while the aluminum body keeps the weight low for placement on boom stands.
The cardioid pattern is tuned for strong off-axis rejection, with up to 37 dB attenuation at 180 degrees, which helps keep neighbouring instruments and room reflections out of the signal. The voicing is described as the flattest in the KSM line, with a neutral top end and ultra-low self-noise. Suggested uses include vocals, upright bass, drum overheads, ensembles and other instruments.
The microphone is offered in two kits. The KSM32C/HM Stage Kit comes with a hard-mount clamp, case and flocked foam windscreen, and the KSM32C/SM Studio Kit adds a shock mount and magnetic pop filter in place of the hard mount.
